Petit-Anse-Coteau Drainage canal at Derouen Post Office.  Dead fish reached here on November  10 but high tide this date washed them back. see report.

Pond at Chalmette monument very shallow due to lack of rainfall. Anopheles larvae on top of algal scum in spite of fish. 1 ft deep.   About 30 ft diameter.  Pond 2.  Separate note,  No scum or larvae November  1. Rainfall heavy October  28
Pond 1. Anopheles larvae rare, although a few wherever there is sufficient thick scum, This however not abundant & only along shores in 1 ft. & less water. No anopheles in open water areas or where neg.  protrudes above water. (none November  1)
Pond 3. Another pond at Chalmette larger & deeper than pond 2, & with much smaller numbers of anopheles. 1½ ft. in deepest places, & more open areas & less scum. About 100 ft diameter  (No larvae Nov  ember 1)

Company Canal at Westwego. Gambusias exceptionally abundant. No rank growths due to biol.  ogical  control.
A pond gone dry at Chalmette. A potential mosquito hatchery at the next rainfall.   Separate note,  Shallow pool November 1 with scattered culex larvae, Cricket & grass frogs. No fish, 1 small snapping turtle.
Borrow pit opposite Audubon Park. Anopheles  absent in this and similar ponds except a few larva sic  in small path of spirogyra amongst rubbish in foreground.
Petit-Anse-Coteau Drainage Canal scratched out  (Bayou Parcperdue)   inserted  3 miles  below youngsville.  (In darker pencil)  badly polluted at this point near Loze  s . see report. Wiggletails of culex practically the only life.
