B&W photo, April 15, 1941. Vivian Municipal Park, Vivian, La. Caddo Parish. Written on photo: WPA workmen have developed this park site near Vivian's new community center and swimming pool. The project provided for the clearing of 30 acres, lining drainage ditches with crushed rock, constructing reinforced concrete drainage culverts, curbs and gravel surfacing of tennis courts. A network of drives and walks was built and fiter bed gravel in the municipal disposal plant replaced.

B/W photo, August 2, 1940. Airplane flying at Lake Charles Airport. This modern airport is nearing completion by WPA workmen. Ten non-college students and 20 college students between the ages of 18-26 will have from 35 to 50 hours and will be granted private licenses. The airport will have six training ships and 350 private ships will use the airport. Erection of the airport buildings, of which there will be seven, six hangars and an administration building, have not yet been started. Harry E. Watson, airport manager at Lake Charles, has been designated as flight contractor in the national defense program.
