Monroe, La. Temporary f. m. grassy hole, near salt water lake. Ideal breeding place for Aedes solicitans. Found in all stages, egg to adult.
Mosquito (Culex) hatchery. Violet.
Myriophyllum in pond at Gentilly Terrace. Mos.  quito  larvae, Culex and Anopheles abundant. Natural enemies scarce. No Gambus  ias  or Crawfish? observed.

Pond at Chalmette monument very shallow due to lack of rainfall. Anopheles larvae on top of algal scum in spite of fish. 1 ft deep.   About 30 ft diameter.  Pond 2.  Separate note,  No scum or larvae November  1. Rainfall heavy October  28
Pond 1. Anopheles larvae rare, although a few wherever there is sufficient thick scum, This however not abundant & only along shores in 1 ft. & less water. No anopheles in open water areas or where neg.  protrudes above water. (none November  1)
Pond 3. Another pond at Chalmette larger & deeper than pond 2, & with much smaller numbers of anopheles. 1½ ft. in deepest places, & more open areas & less scum. About 100 ft diameter  (No larvae Nov  ember 1)
Sewage & drainage ditch discharging waste from Kentucky distillery at Westwego. Gambusias abundant. About 15,000 in area shown. After heavy rains, mosquito larvae are washed out from somewhere above, into Company canal

Marshy edge of swamp at side of Gentilly Station which had gone dry & grown up land grasses during last summer. Although  Gambusias  & Crawfish are becoming established, mosquito  larvae have sufficient harborage & food yet in the dead vegetation.
