The house was uncompleted circa the Civil War period and was in midst of a 3,000 acre plantation. Soon thereafter the plantation was abandoned and the uncompleted ruins soon became surrounded with timber.

Jefferson Parish man, "Doctor" Dicarlo, charged with malpractice and assault with intent to kill his "patient", the wife of Frank Nicoloce, in 1899.
