Abstract
This is an image of a 2 1/4'x 3 1/2" bronze rectangular medallion bearing a profile of Dr. Cushing facing left with the inscription, HARVEY CVSHING | MOSLEY . PROFESSOR . OF | SVRGERY . MCMXII . MCMXXXII. The plaque is signed by the artist: Paul Adrian Brodauer, Sc. , 1932. -- Biographical note: Harvey Williams Cushing (1869-1939) was an American neurosurgeon and a pioneer of brain surgery. He described Cushing's disease, a malfunction of the pituitary gland which he termed "polyglandular syndrome." He is often called the "father of modern neurosurgery." The Moseley Professorship of Surgery, the oldest endowed surgery chair at Harvard Medical School, is held by the chair of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Department of Surgery. Abstract
This is an image of the obverse and reverse of a medal commemorating Goethe and his work Faust. The occasion of the striking of this medal was the death centenary of Goethe by Raoul Bénard in Paris, 1932. The obverse has the inscription: GOETHE | 1749-1832 below the bust of Goethe (facing right) is R. BENARD D' APRES | DAVID D'ANGERS. The reverse has the inscription at the bottom below a line: FAVST ET HÉLÈNE | SECOND FAVST ACTE III. A scene is depicted from Act III of Faust (Faust with Hélène), with a knight is kneeling before a lady with a castle and temple in the background and signed by RAOUL BÉNARD. Pierre-Jean David (1788-1856) was a French sculptor and medalist. He adopted the name David d'Angers. The medal has a likeness of Goethe after a medal sculptured by Pierre-Jean David in 1829. The engraver : Raoul René Alphonse BÉNARD (1881-1961) was a French sculptor and medallist.

Abstract
This item contains the signature and some biographical information of Axel Laurids Reyn (b.1872-d.1935) a physician born in Vienna, Austria. Dr. Reyn spent his career on the staff of the Finsen Institue in Copenhagen. He was a physician, dermatologist and medical researcher. He reported a method of bringing nascent iodine into contact with the tissues of the body, for the treatment of lupus or skin tuberculosis. He is known for the Finsen-Reyn Lamp. Dr. Reyn co-authored: Light converging apparatus, between 1900 and 1909) with Prof. N.R. Finsen. See: Axel Reyn, M. D. Obituary, British Medical Journal, May 18, 1935, p.1055.
