Reproduction of an image identified by French historian Marc de Villiers du Terrage as an Acadian settlement along the Mississippi River. In view of the hill in the background and what appears to be a palm tree in the extreme right foreground suggest that this may be a settlement in another colony, possibly Saint Domingue.
