The Louisiana Digital Library welcomes a new member: Ouachita Parish Public Library. Ouachita will provide access to materials representing northeast Louisiana, helping the LDL pursue its mission of allowing regionally diverse access to the state’s cultural heritage.
In today’s “Member Highlight” post we talk with Cyndy Robertson, archivist at Ouachita Parish Public Library.
What types of content do you plan to add to the LDL?
We are planning to add historic images, notably drafts of WPA papers from the 5th district, and material related to Ouachita Parish History.
What item are you most excited about adding?
Preliminary drafts of WPA papers that pertain to early Monroe history.
Do you have a specific audience/group that you think will be most excited to access your content?
Anyone interested in history, especially the history of northeast Louisiana.
Do you see your institution as filling a particular gap in the LDL?
Ouachita Parish Public Library collections will compliment the six ULM collections that are specific to the northeast Louisiana region. We are very excited about providing accessibility to OPPL collections through the Louisiana Digital Library.
Thanks for talking to us, Cyndy!
