Abstract
Text. 1 Page. Doctor Felix Formento, Sr. was born in Peidmont, Italy and was a surgeon in Napoleon's Campaign. In 1818 he came to Louisiana and was asked by Jean Lafitte to attend a privateer's daughter. His son is noted for his help of the Italians in New Orleans and was given the Order of St. Maritus and St. Lazarus. He was appointed to the Louisiana State Board of Health in 1880.
