Sendeman's petition, written by James Alexander, sought payment of a debt accrued from May 25, 1805-Aug. 1, 1806 by John Davidson. Because Davidson lived in Chalreston, S.C., the petition named John Ramsey in the suit because he was in possession of some of Davidson's property. Affidavit of Sendeman. Account with affidavit of Davidson sworn before Thomas S. Kennedy. Attachment written by Kennedy. On Feb. 15, 1808, Judge L. Moreau Lislet ruled in favor of the plaintiff for the sum of $290.32 plus suit costs.

File contains petition, judgement, summons and answer. Petition, written A.R. Ellery, for $305, which John Iselstine claimed Waters Clark owed him for various labors and services. The petition contains a list of items of the account annexed including oyster suppers, suppers and liquors, and "pricking your horse of attendance." Summons written by Thomas S. Kennedy. Answer, written by Lewis Kerr, claimed that Clark was indebted to Islelstine for only $17.30. On Nov. 29, 1806, Judge James Workman ruled in favor of the plaintiff in the amount of $17.30 and that the suit costs were to be paid by the plaintiff.

The subject of this suit is unclear because the petition is damaged. File contains petition, judgement, summons and fieri facias. Petition, written on behalf of plaintiff by B. Caune, says that John McLarin owed Pierre Dulcide Barron $80 from an account and they appeared before Justice of the Peace B. Cenas on April 1, 1805. On July 19, 1805, Judge James Workman ruled for the plaintiff in the amount of his demand plus court costs. Summons and fieri facias written by Thomas S. Kennedy. Fieri facias for "no dollars" was delivered Aug. 16, 1805 and no property found.

Abstract
Materials consist primarily of financial papers relating to Miles Terrell's debt and business transactions. Documents include promissory notes, accounts, drafts for payments, and invoices. A court summons dated January 27, 1875 requires Miles Terrell to appear in court to answer a plaintiff's demand for payment for nursing services. Papers include a receipt showing payment of this debt, dated May 28, 1875. Terrell family genealogy notes, dated 1875, record the births of Miles Terrell's sons, Gloucester and Marion. A note written by Violet Terrell on October 1, 1875 instructs William Deare to pay Miles Terrell for board and use of a horse. A note written by James Hicks on November 14, 1875 asks Grean Richey to pay Miles Terrell.

Other items include an invoice for drugs (dated 1876), an order for sewing supplies and fabric (dated 1877), and a shipping document for the sale and shipment of cotton (dated 1877).
